Creative Electronics/Basic Robotics

This is a real hands-on workshop for children! They will get to make interesting electronic devices to take home. The children with good soldering skills will make a simple robotic car with sensors, flashing lights, motors etc. The children who are new to electronics will learn soldering skills by choosing to make a lie detector, traffic lights, water pollution tester, or simple windmill generator to make electricity. If you have done the course before or have very good mechanical skills you will be making a new robot similar to the Wall-E robot. Wear old clothes! Please bring a drink bottle and a packed lunch.

Practical Electronics

Use a Morse code transmitter, Flashing light displays, and Burglar alarm to keep annoying people away, Lighthouse, Dollhouse with lights, and other interesting ideas.

Robotics Challenge Level 2

This course is for all those robotics enthusiasts and previous course regulars who are looking to step up their robotics and soldering skills. You will make and take home a small robotic car kit after the course. Using extra sensors you will make your own short range remote using an IR sensor, a light sensor to control the motor, a sound sensor and an oscillating sensor. You'll also get the chance to test your skills in a fun soldering challenge.

Flight and Basic Rocketry

This is a great introduction course into the fascinating world of flight. Learn the mechanics by making a small model airplane to take home. Participate in an exciting parachute making challenge, launch your eggs from a tall building and develop your own cardboard space machine. Weather depending, we'll head out to the Domain for a series of fun rocket launches.
