How to Make Coloured Macaroni JewelleryThis can be a fun activity to do with the kids. First colour the macaroni together and then let the kids make their own necklaces, bracelets and even anklets with some string. You can also use the coloured macaroni to make collages and for other craft activities too. Be warned that the macaroni is fairly messy when it is wet so it may be a good idea for you to do this step if you don't want to clean the mess up afterwards. What you Need
Place 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol in the bag with about ten drops of food colouring. Add your 2 cups of uncooked macaroni and close the zip-lock bag. Mix the macaroni around in the bag until it is all coated. Leave for a few hours to soak in. The longer you leave it the more vibrant your colours will be. Remove from the zip-lock bag and spread in a single layer on newspaper and leave to dry overnight. If you want more than one colour repeat the same process in separate bags with the same ingredients. When your macaroni is dry, cut a length of string (make sure it is long enough to fit over your child's head/wrist/ankle once it is tied off) and let the kids thread the macaroni onto the string. Tie the ends together when they are done.
